With the start, the Tuesday, July 4uh, his 1st Inter-Balkan Festival of Ancient Dramain “Attiko Alsos”, the events of the 2nd Cultural Festival of the Attica Region “Summer of Culture with days of music and theater” continue.

The Trans-Balkan Festival of Ancient Drama, a new artistic institution of the Region, is established from this summer on an annual basis and begins with a four-day performance (July 4-7) and free entry. The goal of the Festival is the collaboration and constant presence in our country of artists, institutions and forms from the Balkans, who work at a high artistic level, focusing on Ancient Drama and the research surrounding it.

The regional governor Giorgos Patoulis, inviting the citizens, referred to the great contribution of the Balkan countries to the Ancient Drama, pointing out: “In the long-suffering geographical landscape of the Balkans, where people experienced and are experiencing modern tragedies, the Ancient Drama with its international scope, humanism and its therapeutic dimension, has the power to highlight our kinship traditions and through the essential artistic encounter to point the compass towards the deep and sincere friendship of the peoples. The Region of Attica, with quality cultural activities, highlights the unbreakable relationship between life and art, which in a refracting way takes part in the eternal issues that concern human nature and societies, but also in the entertainment of people, promoting the good life”.

The honored person of the organization is the writer, poet and translator Leandros Polenakis, while the international productions are presented with supertitles in Greek.

It is noted that the 2nd Cultural Festival of the Region “Summer of Culture with days of music and theater”, started with the 1st Festival of Choirs of the Region of Attica (June 11-12-13) and continues with the “Greater Greece” Festival, in which cultural associations of Attica representing every corner of Greece, while the program will continue until August 4 with rich cultural events.
