Billboard announced the creation of a new platform, the Billboard Arabiawhich aims to highlight artists with Arab roots and inform about Arab musical talent around the world.

Billboard is one of the most important US music industry charting magazines for songs and albums covering various genres.

In partnership with Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG), the largest media organization in Saudi Arabia is embarking on a new venture described as “global destination for artists with Arab roots, hosting new releases, reviews and interviews from the biggest names, exclusive coverage of local and global events, original photography and special videos in one central location».

The partnership was announced at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity during a panel featuring Billboard President Mike Wan and SRMG CEO Jomana Al Rashid.

Billboard Arabia will publish several different charts over the next year, using data from major streaming platforms such as Spotify and YouTube, in order to amplify the achievements of Arab artists.

The music scene in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is changing rapidly. However, there is currently no dedicated platform to showcase and tell the stories of Arab artists who are pioneering innovation in the global music industry.
