The warm waters of Linoperamatan beach in Crete, they attract many elderly people, who prefer it for their bathing. However, sewage ends up in the sea as a result the water to be contaminated and not suitable for swimming.
In fact, there is also a relevant sign which, however, the “fanatic” bathers of the beach in question defy.
The revelation was made by the Hygienist Head of the Public Health Department of the Crete Region, Vice President of the Panhellenic Association of Public Health Supervisors Antonis Papadakis, speaking on CRETA TV, who stated that in this area treated wastewater from businesses.
The bathers, according to him, they choose this particular beach because the waters are warm, thinking that they have healing properties. There is even a sign that prohibits swimming, but some people remove it.
Mr. Papadakis appealed to the citizens not to go to that area for swimming, as there is a risk to public health.
