• Release 2023: Madrugada in Water Square

Less than a year after their spectacular concert in Kallimarmaro, the Madrugada are returning for their beloved Greek audience, this time as part of Release. From the very first days of their creation in 1993, Madrugada managed to create a unique soundscape, based not only on the formidable voice of Sivert Høyem, one of the world’s leading rock singers, but above all on the band’s strong signature, so sonically unique as well as visuals that transcend generations, genres and trends. Their six studio LPs, their 2005 live album “Live at Tralfamadore” and countless singles and EPs have won a long list of awards and gone gold or platinum. On the same day, Release Athens 2023 welcomes the indie-rock band Wet Leg, in Water Square. Even the British songwriter Baxter Dury is coming to Greece for the first time, supporting the headliners Madrugada and Wet Leg, in what is expected to be a magical night.

Over the past decade, Gregory Porter has brought modern jazz to the ears of thousands of people with his warm, baritone voice. He quickly rose to fame in 2010 with his first record ‘Water’, which was a wonderful marriage of jazz, gospel and soul. One of the most important performers of his generation, the two-time Grammy winner Porter comes to Greece and Herodeion for the first time, as part of the Athens-Epidavros Festival, just before his two major concerts in the United Kingdom at the unique Royal Albert Hall London.
