As Roy travels to the ends of space, he discovers threats not only to his mission, but to all of humanity, while searching for the truth about his father.

  • “The Mission” by Roland Joffé: COSMOTE CINEMA 1HD at 23.15, Saturday 24/06

Dramatic action film released in 1986 and won several awards, including an Oscar. The film takes place during the 18th century and focuses on two central characters: a Spanish priest (Jeremy Irons) and an ex-soldier (Robert De Niro). The priest is determined to protect an autonomous colony of Indians from the onslaught of Portuguese colonialists, who want to conquer their land. The ex-soldier takes on the role of guide and helps prepare for the battle. Events unfold in a dangerous jungle, where the two men also face internal conflicts. Throughout, the film examines themes such as religion, betrayal and compromise.
