Billy Crystal and Queen Latifah are among the artists to receive awards from the John Center for the Performing Arts. F. Kennedy in 2023. The Center has announced the five artists who will be honored this year for their achievements and contributions to American culture through the performing arts, music, dance, theater, opera, film and television .

“The Kennedy Center recognizes artists who have made profound contributions to the cultural life of our nationsaid its president, David M. Rubinstein.

Billy Crystal, actor and comedian, Queen Latifah, rapper, singer and actress, Renee Fleming, soprano, Barry Gipp, singer, songwriter and member of the Bee Gees, and singer Dionne Warwick are the 2023 honorees.

“They are people who have redefined their art forms and have shown remarkable persistence and authenticity in being original.added Kennedy Center President Deborah F. Rutter.

“Each has explored new territory, pushed artistic boundaries, and most importantly, is committed to sharing their gifts with the worldhe added. Singer and actress Gloria Estefan will host the awards ceremony for the third time.

The event will take place on December 3 at the Kennedy Center Opera House in Washington and will be broadcast by CBS.
