Investigations into a reinforcement competition with recycling houses is being conducted by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office.
In 2020, the Attica Region purchased 130 recycling houses for which 45m euros were spent.
Then, according to SKAI reporter Yiannis Souliotis, the regions of the Peloponnese and Crete also entered the program.
A total of 83 million euros were spent.
Three years later, the European Commission requested that contracts be inspected.
The survey was completed in the summer of 2025.
At the same time, Attica Regional Governor Nikos Chardalias assigned an investigation into the supply of bins at the Patouli period.
Where does the contest been set up from
It follows from 4 events that the competition was set up, according to the report.
The competition was attended by two companies, one Greek and one American, but in essence it is a company, as Greek was the representative in Greece in American.
The competition was photographic, as only the company met the technical specifications.
In addition, no market research was done. Each house was purchased for 300,000 euros, while prices were much lower in the market at 90,000.
The fourth point is that the houses do not accomplish the purpose for which they were purchased, which was to recycle packaging, but are used for recycling materials.
As a result, the Committee on Financial Audit requires a correction of 50%.
It is not even possible to see the case file in Parliament because political persons may be involved in the case.
