The American actor David Conswet will be the next Superman in James Gunn’s new film. He is joined by Golden Globe winner Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.

The two actors were among six actors vying for the lead roles at in-person test screenings held in the presence of DC Studios heads Peter Safran and James Gunn last weekend.

Korenswet who was born on July 8, 1993 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania became known for his roles in Ryan Murphy’s Netflix series ‘The Politician’ and ‘Hollywood’. In the film he will play the young journalist Clark Kent of the newspaper “The Daily Planet” with the award-winning actress as his partner.

Written and directed by James Gunn, the film “focuses on the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent.

Casting for the remaining characters continues with filming to begin in January 2024. According to “Deadline” the “Superman: Legacy” is expected to premiere on July 11, 2025.
