Marilia Mendonça’s mother pays tribute to her daughter to the sound of gospel music

Ruth Moreira, mother of Marilia Mendonça, spoke about the tragic death of her daughter in the early hours of this Monday (8) through her social networks. On Instagram’s Stories, she posted a photo beside the singer, to the sound of the gospel song Jó, by Midian Lima.

Ruth highlighted an excerpt from the song that says, “God gave me, God took, blessed be the name of the Lord.” Marilia Mendonça died on Friday (4) at the age of 26 in a plane crash that took the lives of four other people.

The lyrics of the entire song talk about Job, a biblical character from the Old Testament, who loses his children and wealth, but remains unshakable in his faith.

The day before her death, on Thursday (3), the singer paid a tribute to her mother, who was celebrating her birthday on the date. “I’m here to remind you once again how much I love you. Your care and affection go beyond the limits of being a mother […] his heart should be studied and reproduced for generations to come. The world would be prettier if there were more Ruths lying around…thanks for taking such good care of the love of my life. It will always be us. connected, intertwined and strong. Together! Love you mom! Forever,” wrote Marilia.

The singer Maraisa published this Monday morning (8) a long text in which she extols that Ruth Moreira is the strongest woman she has ever met.

“The person who has shown me the most understanding so far, and the woman who has taught me the most in this life! Every word you’ve said since the first moment of the worst news of your life, I’m sure of it, is in my mind! God at every second, for the opportunity to be “Marilia Mendonça’s mother”! As much as I want to convey her greatness in words, I won’t be able to,” said Maraisa.

TRAGEDY

Known as the queen of suffering and one of the greatest voices in contemporary Brazilian music, Marilia Mendonça was one of five victims of a plane crash that fell into a mountain range in Piedade de Caratinga, 309 kilometers from Belo Horizonte. The artist had a concert scheduled for the date in Caratinga, about ten kilometers from the accident site.

The fall occurred around 3pm. At first, it was not known if it was the singer who was on board the aircraft. It was the twin-engine resemblance seen in a video she’d shared on Instagram two hours earlier that sparked the doubt. In a comical tone, the publication showed Mendonça embarking and eating.

In addition to Marilia, Henrique Ribeiro, her producer, and Abicieli Silveira Dias Filho, her uncle and advisor, also died in the plane crash, as well as pilot Geraldo Martins de Medeiros and co-pilot Tarcísio Pessoa Viana.
