The American actor Chris Evans (Chris Evans), known for his role as Captain Americais taking a break from social media. He deactivated both his Instagram and Twitter accounts.

In an Instagram Story message, he explained that his “ability to sit and be present and read books and watch movies and even seek out the company of the people he loves is eroding” because of his screen time.

“I’m going to take a break from social media for a while”, Evans wrote, according to screenshots shared by his fans on social media. “I’m not sure why I’m making a big statement about it, I just think it’s hard to break out of a cycle that I’m starting to find a bit addictive and that’s a commitment I’m making to myself.”

The star also mentioned that he believes using Instagram was “one of the many obstacles” to getting to where he hopes to be in his career.

“Thank you all for saying such nice things all the time,” Evans wrote to his fans. “I appreciate it so much, but I have to read the thoughts of strangers for a while, I’m not really sure this thing is very good for any of us.”

Evans was more specific with his latest tweet. “…I’m giving myself a summer with less screen time, so I’m taking a little break from Twitter and IG. See you soon! With love!”.
