Recorded in June last year, the series “Viajando com os Gil”, which recently premiered on Amazon Prime Video, has a curiosity: personal trainer Rodrigo Godoy, Preta Gil’s ex-husband, appears in several scenes as a member of the family .
The couple separated during Preta’s treatment for bowel cancer and amid information about Rodrigo’s betrayal with the artist’s former stylist.
When the series was recorded, over the course of the 36-day “Us, The People” tour of Europe and Morocco, all seemed well between the two. On the tour, Gilberto Gil, Preta’s father, performed with his children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter Sol de Maria.
Godoy appears right at the beginning of the series, in the van used to transport the family to the airport. In Europe, he appears again on a bus talking about bodybuilding and credited as Gilberto Gil’s son-in-law and in a conversation with Preta’s son, Francisco Gil, who complains about the food on the plane. “No one is talking about dinner, they are talking about the gym”, says Francisco.
On the roller coaster of an amusement park, the ex-husband appears with Preta and other members of the Gil family. He also participates in a religious ritual in Morocco; the celebration of the marriage of the ex-sister-in-law Maria Gil, in Italy and a joke with the singer Xamã, who fell asleep on the bus that took the troupe to one of the presentations.
The series shows the first symptoms of Preta’s illness. In one of the scenes, she says that she spent seven days without going to the bathroom and, in Berlin, she vomited a lot. At the time, the singer believed that she felt the effect of changing eating habits during the trip.
Back at the shows with her family, during a break from her cancer treatment, Preta has been applauded by the public when her father mentions her name. On social networks, friends register the artist’s emotion.
Also on the networks, Preta talks about the moment she is living. “Stay cool, because whoever hurt you owed a debt to the law of return. Not you,” she wrote last weekend.
This Sunday (2), the singer cried a lot when she was invited by Thiaguinho to participate in the Tardezinha project, in Niterói (RJ). On stage, the singer and the audience sang the religious song “Derrama, Senhor” for Preta.
