They are the K-pop group that has won the most records. Made history at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards by winning the most trophies (three) of any group or duo. The ten-year journey of K-pop superstars, BTS, to glory is recorded in their first official book that will be released worldwide on July 9 and in Greece by Dioptra publications entitled “Beyond The Story: The 10-year journey of BTS” .

“It’s a phenomenon and the group and everything that happens with K-pop. But BTS broke through some barriers, broke many, many records. So it was something very interesting, very curious. We knew there was a fanatical audience out there with a thirst for anything to do with the subject, so we decided it was a very interesting book to publish.” Glykeria Dimitropopoulou, Publishing Rights & Acquisitions Manager of the Dioptra publishing house, emphasized to APE-MPE.

Written by journalist and K-pop music critic Myeongseok Kang in collaboration with the group’s seven members, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook the book is structured as an oral history and accompanied by exclusive unpublished photos .

“The members of the group are listed as authors, precisely because they greatly influenced the course of the book, their voices are clearly heard in it, they give interviews» explained Mrs. Dimitropoulou.

“Their course was largely in their own hands, they communicated a lot with the audience from the first moment and this continues with the book. They tried to communicate with their audience. It’s the first official book, so they wanted to be involved as much as possible themselveshe added. The history of BTS was translated into Greek by Vangelis Giannisis.

“We were very lucky, because the translator who took on the book is a huge BTS fan. When I messaged him in a suggestive way, without making a specific reference, as it had to be strictly confidential at first, he responded within seconds with enthusiasm fully understanding the project I was referring to. He is an excellent translator and a very good job has been done” emphasized Glykeria Dimitropoulou, who said she was excited about the book on many levels.

“This is an amazing edition aesthetically with high specifications” he said, making special reference to the QR codes included in the book, but also to his photos and information that has not been published before.

When a video, song or album is described, the reader can automatically see what is mentioned in the specific passage, access trailers, music videos and other material on the internet through QR codes.

“I liked it as a version. But I was also excited about the conclusion that emerges about the talent, the art, the way someone manages their success, the psychology of the people who are in this space» pointed out Mrs. Dimitropoulou.

Over two billion social media mentions of BTS

BTS (Korean: 방탄소년단, Bangtan Sonyeondan), also known as the Bangtan Boys, is a seven-member South Korean boy band consisting of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook, or Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jungkook.
