A concert with the award-winning composer Mino Matsa will take place in Rethymno, organized by the Region of Crete, at the Erofili Municipal Theater, on Tuesday, July 25, with free entry for citizens.

According to the organizers, in Crete, where he inspired the music for the successful series “The Island” and the movie “Kazantzakis”, the composer is coming to present an evening with his finest songs, accompanied by two excellent performers, Kostas Triantafyllidis and Myrto Vassiliou, as well as 7 solo musicians.

The musical evening could not miss the legend of Cretan music, Vassilis Skoulas, who will collaborate with the composer, unfolding his art that has enchanted the audience for years.

Songs by Mino Matsa from the beginning of his career until today, music from his journey in cinema, theatre, television and discography, herald an evening full of emotion and emotion.

In the idyllic space of Fortezza with the composer at the piano, the audience will travel through the melodies, lyrics and exquisite voices, to a magical place.

Also, as part of the events 100 years of Fortetsa Summer 2023 on Friday July 7, 2023, the Cultural Association of Fortetsa in co-organization with the Region of Crete, will present 10 stories from the 35 memories and traditions of the area. A hundred years have passed since the refugees of Asia Minor settled in Fortetsa.

For the period of one hundred years since the Asia Minor disaster, the Fortetsa Cultural Association researched and collected documents that make up the region’s recent history.

Ten stories of the investigation will be presented in the Hammam Hall on Friday 7 July 2023. The event is interactive, with talks documents, narratives, projections, photographic material, filmed and live testimonies of people who lived through the events. A dialogue with conclusions follows. There will also be a presentation of documents – documentaries with QR.
