BBB 22: Naiara Azevedo sings an excerpt from a song recorded with Marília Mendonça

Naiara Azevedo sang this Tuesday (18) at Big Brother Brasil 22 excerpts of the song “50 percent”, recorded in partnership with Marília Mendonça, without knowing all the controversy surrounding the song outside the house. She also said she was not close to the singer, who died in a plane crash in November last year.

“I recorded with Marília and I haven’t had the pleasure of releasing it yet. It’s been two years since I recorded it. It’s going to be released now in February”, said Naiara when singing the song shortly before the live program this Tuesday (18). The release of “50 percent”, however, should not occur after the family of Marília Mendonça is against the action.

Later, at another time, when being questioned by Scooby about her relationship with Marília, Naiara said that they were not best friends, but that she had great admiration for her. “She wasn’t my best friend, but she is a person who has a space and will always have it in my heart. Firstly as an admirer, fan and also as a human being.”

“I know not only from the exchanges I had with her, but behind the scenes, that she is a human being with an incredible heart. I never say was, I say is, because it will be forever, it doesn’t erase history”, he added.

UNDERSTAND THE CONTROVERSY

Over the weekend, João Gustavo, Marília Mendonça’s brother, suggested that Naiara Azevedo would use her sister to promote herself within the BBB. After the singer’s family was against the release of the feat,

“Everyone already knew that you would enter the BBB to promote yourself, and I know that you will not take my brother’s name out of your mouth, so I will do everything so that you don’t stay inside this house”, wrote the singer in the social networks.

João Gustavo’s reaction occurred after Naiara announced before entering the reality, in an interview with the Extra newspaper, that he would release a song in partnership with Marília Mendonça in early 2022.

Ruth, Marília’s mother, told Quem magazine that the family was never contacted by Naiara’s team to talk about the matter. “The reasons for the denial were always up to Marília. And we will always respect her wishes, other songs will still be released because it was her wish. Unfortunately, we have been dealing with this kind of thing daily”, she said.

After the controversy, Naiara’s team said they might not release the song “50 percent”. “Everything was always done within the legal procedures. But out of respect for Marília’s family, and if it is their will not to want this release, we will understand and not release the song”, he said in a note published on Twitter.
