The singer Britney Spears spoke, at the end of the afternoon of this Thursday (6), about the rumors of having been assaulted by an NBA star. In a publication on social networks, the pop artist clarified her version of what happened – websites pointed out that Britney asked for a photo for the player Victor Wembanyama, but was hit in the face by his security.
Britney reports that “traumatic experiences are nothing new” and that she “wasn’t prepared” for what happened. After recognizing the athlete in the lobby of the hotel she was staying at, she decided to approach him and congratulate him on his success. “It was too noisy so I tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention. I am aware of the player’s statement where he mentions I grabbed him from behind but I actually just tapped him on the shoulder,” she wrote. “Then his security slapped me across the face without even looking back, in front of a crowd. I almost fell to the ground and made my glasses fall off my face.”
She describes that, last Wednesday (5), she was surrounded by a group of fans and that none of her security guards attacked her followers. Therefore, the singer claims that it was important to set an example and treat people with respect.
“Physical violence is taking place far too often in this world. Often behind closed doors. I support all the victims and my heart goes out to you all! I have yet to receive a public apology from the player, his security or his family. organization. I hope they do,” she adds, who also thanked the Las Vegas Police Department and detectives for their support.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing, as Britney has formally filed a complaint with the police.
