Lima Duarte sends a message to Regina Duarte: ‘It can’t end like this’

Lima Duarte, 91, used social media to send a message to colleague Regina Duarte, 74. Between 1985 and 1986, the two were very successful when they starred in the soap opera “Roque Santeiro”, in which they gave life to the couple Senhozinho Malta and widow Porcina .

“Regina Duarte, my dear widow Porcina,” he wrote. “We worked for so long together and we had such glorious moments. These are the good memories I want to remember you from!”

He also published a video in which he recalled a recent controversy involving the actress. She published a montage of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) holding hands with an image of Jesus Christ and claimed that it was not fake, but real.

“God, take your hand away, my father”, says Lima Duarte at the beginning of the video. “Get your hand out of there. So much dirt on your hand…”

Then he starts to address his colleague directly. “Regina Duarte, my dear widow Porcina, ‘am I right or am I wrong?'”, he joked.

“Widow Porcina, I’ve said many things about you,” he continued. “We worked together for 10 years. You were Sinhozinho Malta’s passion, we lived in such glorious moments for television, for acting, for our lives… It can’t end like this, Regina!

The publication won the support of several celebrities, such as Bruno Gagliasso, Hugo Bonemer, Ana Paula Renault and Sergio Marone, among others. Among the anonymous, there were those who liked it and those who found the message “unnecessary”.

The actress left Globo in February 2020 to assume the position of Special Secretary for Culture of the current president Jair Bolsonaro. She had been on the station since 1969, when she acted in the serial “Véu de Noiva”.

Regina remained in the new position, created especially for her, for less than three months. In May, the president announced that she would leave the Secretary to be part of the management of Cinemateca Brasileira, in São Paulo. She never held any position at the institution.
