Epic qualification of AEK against PAOK in a thriller match!

With a terrible victory over PAOK (3-2 sets) AEK checked the ticket for the “8” of the Cup in women’s volleyball.

The “yellow-blacks” were ahead 2-0 in the match, with the “biceps of the North” equalizing and sending the match to the tiebreak, where it managed, in fact, to lead 13-9. AEK made its own upset and made it 3-2 (18-16), with a terrible performance by Terel.

In the first set, the two teams started hand in hand, with PAOK being the first to reach a three-point lead (12-15). AEK stepped on the gas and was ahead with 18-17, while it reached 22-20, taking advantage of PAOK’s mistakes. The guests tied at 23-23, but Vander and Vergidou ace made it 25-23 for the 1-0 set.

The Thessalonians entered the third set stronger and managed to escape with a series of five points for 15-9. AEK with its own series reduced to 21-18, but failed to stop the “biceps of the north” from 2-1 to 25-21.

Absolute leader in the fourth set was PAOK. He took the lead early with 10-3 and they reached 20-13 with the same comfort. Finally, they sent the match to the tiebreak making it 2-2 with 25-16.

In the fifth set the match caught fire. PAOK had Kojiar at the top and took a lead that reached +5 (7-12), while it came very close to winning the set (9-13). AEK started the counterattack from that point and ran a series of five points starring Kavvadia and Vander. PAOK survived, but failed to find answers to the attacks of Terel that “cleared” for AEK, which celebrated the 3-2 set with 18-16.
