Mia Mamede, the current Miss Brazil, will wear a special gala dress this Saturday night (8). When she hands over the crown to the new Miss Universe Brazil champion, she will be wearing a gala dress created by muralist Eduardo Kobra . The piece, according to the creator, praises women and diversity.
Accepting Mia’s challenge, Kobra imprinted his unmistakable mark on this unique piece, reflecting his style present in huge murals spread across major cities such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, London, New York, Amsterdam, Moscow and Tokyo. In a dress designed by stylist Bruno Oliveira, which served as a “blank canvas”, the muralist portrayed ethnic diversity by representing a black woman and another representative of indigenous peoples.
“Through this dress, I express what I have defended during my reign: the awareness that our beauty goes beyond the physical. I am looking forward to seeing the public’s reaction”, declares Mia about this partnership with the artist.
“There are several forms of beauty that deserve to be highlighted and recognized. Beauty is diverse! Furthermore, it is essential to always emphasize that beauty is lost if it is not accompanied by good deeds and respect for the diversity present in our country and on our planet “, says Eduardo Kobra, in an official statement.
Miss Universe Brazil can be followed live, this Saturday, from 9 pm, on YouTube.
