Deborah Secco remembers having stopped at the hospital because of ‘food orgy’: ‘I ate a lot in one day’

One of Deborah Secco’s most striking characters in cinema was Judite from Carolina Jabor’s 2014 feature “Boa Sorte”. . In “Bruna Surfistinha”, she recently told behind-the-scenes details of one of the most iconic scenes in the film: the central character having sex in sequence with several men, when she fainted.

However, the restricted diet brought another problem for Deborah. At the end of the recordings, she ended up in a hospital for having eaten too much, since for a month she only ate half a papaya and drank green juice. “I had a day of food orgy. I ate everything at once and ended up in the hospital. It was difficult to go back to eating normally”, she said on the program Que História é Essa, Porchat?.

She detailed the entire episode about preparing for the film. “When I started to read the script, we – myself, the production and the direction – came to the conclusion that I needed to lose weight, because I was a dying character, but full of life”, she recalled. “I planned to lose 15 kilos and ended up losing 16. I had three weeks before filming and three more during the process. I lost 10 kilos in the first three and five in the last week, when the death scene was shot”.

Deborah, who is in the cast of the remake of “Elas Por Elas”, a soap opera originally shown in 1982 at seven o’clock at night, by Cassiano Gabus Mendes, which Globo remakes now for the 6 pm time slot, recalled that the production team was worried about your health. “It was really complicated. I followed the diet and didn’t eat anything. The week before the recording, I started planning what I was going to eat when I finished. I ate everything and ended up in the hospital.”
