On Tuesday 1st August, the Museum will be open until midnight and entry will be free from 8pm
The Acropolis Museum will celebrate the August full moon on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 with the music and dance event “Tango Acropolis” in the forecourt of the Museum at 21:00.
The evening will begin with choreographies by leading and internationally renowned tango dancers. This will be followed by a presentation of the three-piece orchestra “Con Estilo Tango” with tributes to the great musicians of the Golden Age, such as Astor Piazzola, Osvaldo Pugliese, Juan d’Arienzo and others.
The sounds of the orchestra will accompany the dance of professional and amateur tango dancers, who will transform the Museum’s forecourt into a big dance floor. Participants: Nikos Papadimitriou (piano), Lefteris Grivas (bandoneon), Lia Selalmazidis (violin). Entry for the public will be free.
On this day the Museum will remain open until midnight and entry will be free from 8:00 p.m.giving visitors the opportunity to tour the exhibition grounds and enjoy the view of the Sacred Rock under the moonlight of the Attic night sky.
The restaurant on the second floor will be open during the same hours (restaurant reservations by phone at 210 9000915).
The event “Tango Acropolis” is held under the auspices of the Embassy of Argentina.
