The economist Gilberto Nogueira, the BBB 21’s Gil do Vigor, announced this Thursday (19), on his social networks, the renewal of his contract with Globo. With that, he decided not to return to the doctorate he is doing in the United States, leaving it for the second semester.
“I’m looking inside myself, as I advise everyone to do. Now I choose to give myself the vacation I never had. I chose to stay this semester in Brazil, finish my work, and then go back to my PhD next semester, knowing that I will finally be able to dedicate myself fully to my studies”, he says.
On his Instagram, Gil made it clear that it is not a withdrawal from the course started last year. “I still have a lot of plans ahead here in Brazil and also in the states with my PhD,” he said. “I would never consider giving up on one of the biggest dreams of my life, because it was through education that my life was transformed.”
With a photo showing his Globo employee badge, he also celebrated the renewal of his contract. “Renewal is here, Brazil”, he celebrated. “Everything I’ve lived has broadened my horizons and I’m very grateful to be among such amazing and talented people and to be able, in some way, to contribute with my knowledge.”
Despite not having reached the final of BBB 21, last year, Gil ended up becoming one of the most popular and beloved participants by the public. In addition to accumulating advertising campaigns, he has a board in Mais Você (Globo), by Ana Maria Braga, where he gives tips on economics.
