To give new air to the campaign, the French house “recruited” K-Pop star Taeyang.
Fashion house Givenchy has unveiled its new global campaign for its Fall/Winter 2023 menswear collection.
To give new air to the campaign, the French house “recruited” K-Pop star Taeyang.
Taeyang was photographed in Seoul by his creative director Matthew M. Williams in minimalist settings.
In his new collection, Williams highlights his vision of new elegance.
Taeyang wears a bespoke black suit made at Givenchy’s menswear atelier. He was also photographed in camouflage pants, showing the designer’s penchant for hybridizing denim with the Japanese art of fabric deconstruction and repair, boro.
“Taeyang is a friend, and for me his creativity and personal values make him an ideal ambassador for Givenchy,” said Matthew M. Williams. “You can feel his presence: he has this relaxed, modern elegance and an edge – he’s clearly comfortable in the clothes and really personifies the new aesthetic of the house.”
The South Korean singer, songwriter and dancer debuted in 2006 as a member of the K-pop group, Big Bang.
