The course of the famous Italian band

In 2009 three young artists appear individually in the Talent Show “Ti lascio una canzone”, of the Italian TV channel RAI 1. Their names, Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble.

They are immediately spotted by Michele Torpedine, the manager who launched the careers of Andrea Bocelli, Zucchero, Giorgia and Biagio Antonacci, who decides to collaborate with them on world artistic tours.

Their vocal talent both individually and as a trio made them in a short period of time become the first Italian artists in history to sign a contract with a major American record company, Geffen Records.

The self-titled album IL VOLO (2010) went platinum and entered the US Billboard Top Ten.

They appeared on well-known European and American TV shows and were present with UNICEF at the Venice Film Festival for children in “The Horn of Africa”.

Their album “Special Christmas Edition” sold millions of copies, their world tour was a huge success and the broadcast of the first of their TV specials, which have been repeated over a thousand times, made them global superstars!

In 2010 they were the only Italian artists invited by Quincy Jones to “We Are The World for Haiti”alongside 80 international stars including Celine Dion, Bono, Lady Gaga, Carlos Santana, Barbra Streisand, Enrique Iglesias, Usher, Natalie Cole and Will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas.

Creating in the following years a rich resume with artist collaborations in concerts such as Barbra Streisand or recording collaborations such as Placido Domingo and Eros Ramazzotti, IL VOLO, with high sales figures in their discography, managed to fill theaters, arenas and stadiums worldwide.

First and second place on the Billboard Classical Crossover chart, Latin Pop Albums Artist of the Year Award, Duo or Group at the Latin Billboard Awards in Miami, 2015 San Remo Festival Award, Gold Creator Award presented by YouTube are some of the accolades that they have received.

The great appeal of the Italian group happened of course in the same year, when they participated in its competition Eurovision with the song “Grande Amore” and won second place.
