Nafplio, Ancient Epidaurus, Kranidi, Ermioni and Porto Heli are among the favorite destinations of visitors to the Argolis and not without reason.

However, in the prefecture there is also a “secret”, a place of amazing beauty, unknown to most of the world – the lagoon of Vivario with its blue-green, turquoise waters, just 10 kilometers from the beautiful city of Nafplio.

This magnificent lagoon stretches from Drepano to Vivari and was declared a protected area in 2000.

In this beautiful lagoon is also the exotic beach of Kondyli – a beach with deep blue waters.

It communicates with the sea through a channel 23 meters long and 23 meters wide and 1.5 meters deep and in the past was used as a natural fish farm for breeding fish such as bream, mullet, sole and sea bass.

The area has been declared protected, due to the great ecological interest it presents as it hosts thousands of fish, but also from an ornithological point of view because many rare species of birds find refuge there.
