With a new play for children in audio version and two new digital works that were distinguished through a competition, the Karolos Koun Art Theater launches its digital repertoire for this season.

On the occasion of the pandemic, the Art Theater attempted to expand its alternative function through a purely digital repertoire and through digital education. “The positive response of the audience, the auspices but also the grant he received for this year’s proposals from the Ministry of Culture,” he said in a statement, pushed the theater to continue its parallel action, which focuses on creating original digital material.

This year’s digital repertoire is inaugurated by the first audio work of the Art Theater for children “The new clothes of the Emperor”, which is now available in podcast format on the website www.theatro-technis.gr. This is an audio production, specially designed for the digital repertoire 2021-22. It is addressed to young and old listeners and is based on a new theatrical adaptation of the well-known fairy tale by Hans Christian ‘Andersen, in which students of the Drama School of the Art Theater participate.

It is worth noting that the new theatrical adaptation of Eva Stilander with music and lyrics by Konstantinos Efstratios, is also presented in a theatrical version, as an original “pocket musical” for children aged 5-11, directed by Konstantinos Efstratios. This production is specifically designed for pandemic conditions. It is easily transported and can be carried out in schools and in all kinds of places outside the theater.

The theatrical production is scheduled to start performances in the Basement of the Art Theater from Sunday, December 5 and every Sunday at 12.00. Additional performances are planned for the holiday season. The exact program of the Children’s Tent for the festive period 5 / 12-9/1, will be announced during the week.

At the same time, the Art Theater announces the winners of the competition for original audio and web works announced in 2021 with the theme: “And the mouths shouted what the heart felt”. In the web category, the work of Eddie Diamantopoulos, “Freddy” stood out, while in the audio category, the work of Christina Christofi, “Cruise”.

The two plays, as already announced, will be “brought to life” in web and audio format and will be included in the digital repertoire of the theater, in the 2021-22 season. The productions will be attended by young actors, graduates and students of the Art Theater. The distribution and rates for the two digital projects will be announced in January 2022.
