Ian Alexander Jr., the only child of Oscar-winning actress Regina King, 51, was found dead Saturday after committing suicide. The information was confirmed by several media outlets in the US.
Ian was Regina’s only child with music producer Ian Alexander Sr. He had turned 26 years old on Wednesday (19).
The actress issued a press release where she spoke about the moment she is going through. “Our family is devastated on a deeper level by the loss of Ian. He is such a bright light who cared so deeply for the happiness of others. Our family asks for respectful consideration during this private time. Thank you,” Regina said in the note.
Ian’s career followed in the footsteps of his father, who split from Regina in 2007 after nine years of marriage.
