Preta Gil celebrates birthday after ‘near-death experience’: ‘Life is a gift’

Preta Gil turns 49 this Tuesday (8) and used social networks to reflect after the period in which she faced “near death” experiences. In January, the singer was diagnosed with bowel cancer and is preparing for surgery to remove the tumor in August.

“Life is a gift and we often don’t realize how beautiful it is to be alive and become more evolved beings over time,” she wrote.

The singer reflected on the second chance at life: “after going through a near death and fighting a very difficult disease, I talked to God many times and we talked about the purpose of this second chance. He said to me: ‘Your purpose you have already knows and exercises with great courage, but you can and must do even more'”.

Preta also commented on detachment from material issues: “I myself, for a long time, focused my existence on running, working to conquer material things and that is empty and shallow, given the great lesson of simply BEING”.

For her, the 49 years were composed of “many victories, much love, few disappointments”. Preta says she is “ready to keep fighting and for us to be freer every day from chains, dogmas, limiting beliefs and prejudices”.

In the comments, friends and fans congratulate the singer. “Happy life. I wanted to be there today to hug you, fill you with kisses, look into your eyes and say! The cure is in you. It already worked. Celebrate life”, wrote Simony, who also underwent cancer treatment in the intestine.
