New York authorities revealed that Leandro De Niro died of a drug overdose. The competent medical examiners issued the results of the tests, which show that Robert De Niro’s grandson didn’t just do drugs, he did hard drugs and very dangerous combinations of these. According to TMZ, the 19-year-old had fentanyl, ketamine and cocaine in his system.

His death was due to an “accidental” overdose“, writes the publication. Leandro was the son of Drena de Niro and the grandson of the famous actor, Robert de Niro.

The grandson of Robert De Niro died on July 3, 2023. His mother from the first moment had written that her son died after being sold fentanyl pills. The actor’s eldest daughter, Drena De Niro, announced Leandro’s death, saying the family had lost a “sweet angel”. The person who sold her son the adulterated drugs did so knowingly, Drena De Niro claimed, writing, “Someone sold him pills laced with fentanyl that he knew were adulterated but sold them to him anyway.”

The New York Police arrested a 20-year-old girl, who is said to be a drug dealer and who sold drugs to the young man, shortly before he was found dead, according to international media.

Drena was adopted by De Niro and took his last name after the actor married her mother, Diahnne Abbott, in 1976. The actor divorced her mother in 1988, but the Hollywood star remained in her life nonetheless .
