Aracy Balabanian: Find out who can share the actress’ inheritance

Actress Aracy Balabanian, who died at the age of 83 this Monday morning (7) after a battle with cancer, never married and had no children. In this way, all the money saved and goods acquired by her in life must be shared by other members of her family.

No family members have revealed so far whether there is a will. If there is no document, Aracy’s inheritance must be divided between brothers, nephews, uncles and cousins, according to the succession order of the Brazilian code. She had six siblings and many nephews, but her personal family life was always reserved.

Isa Gabriela Stefano, specialist in Family and Succession Law and Doctor and Master in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), states that the succession order of inheritance in Brazil is well delimited. “In the first place, there are the brothers, who share equally, if they are bilateral [de mesma mãe e pai que Aracy]. “If you don’t have siblings and direct nephews, then everyone inherits together: grandnephews, uncles and cousins. The rule of needing to be bilateral falls away. All inheritance is divided equally among all who are entitled”, reinforces Isa.

In his trajectory, Balabanian collected remarkable roles and became one of the most famous faces of Brazilian television. Known for her versatility, she has gone from snarky humor to deep drama in a career spanning more than five decades of multiple hits.

One of her best known works on television is the character Cassandra, from the program Sai de Baixo, aired by Globo between 1996 and 2002. In addition, she gave life to the famous Dona Armenia, in the soap opera “Rainha da Sucata”, one of her works that placed her once and for all in the pantheon of the great stars of national teledramaturgy.

Many famous people attended Aracy’s wake in the late morning of this Tuesday (8). Among them, Mariana Ximenes, with whom Aracy starred in the telenovela “Passione” (Globo, 2010). “The generosity, the joy, the wisdom, the humor. And her warm lap, I will miss you so much,” she said.
