This year marks the 50th anniversary of the album’s release “Let’s Get It On” by Marvin Gaye. To commemorate the monumental album, Motown is releasing a deluxe digital edition of 33 songs, 18 of which are unreleased.

The new songs – demos, re-recordings and instrumentals – were collected from a number of different recordings, including 1972 and 1973 and David Van DePitt’s arrangements. The final part of the album, entitled Vulnerable, includes seven acapella songs.

In 1973, Marvin Gaye’s album Let’s Get It On brought new dimensions to R&B/soul music, expanding the boundaries of the genre musically.

The album ‘Let’s Get It On’ will be available on digital platforms on August 25th.

The Grammy Museum is holding a 50th anniversary event on August 23 with Smokey Robinson, Jimmy Jam and David Ridge, author of the great biography of the singer ‘Divided Soul’.
