Doctor Thales Bretas, 35, celebrated this weekend the four-year anniversary of the twins Gael and Romeu, his heirs with Paulo Gustavo (1978-2021).
The theme of the party was superheroes, and both boys dressed in Spider-Man and Batman costumes. Famous people attended the event, such as actors Vladimir Brichta, Ingrid Guimarães and Adriana Esteves.
In participation in Conversa com Bial, the doctor revealed that the children question the absence of their father, the comedian Paulo Gustavo. Bretas detailed the family’s grieving process and said that the children do not understand what happened. “I see they have a harder time processing that,” he said.
Paulo Gustavo died at the age of 42 in May 2021, after a month in hospital due to Covid-19. The children were only one year old at the time.
Bretas said that in the beginning he tried to keep the comedian alive in the memory of Gael and Romeu through photos and videos. “I realized that this was challenging for them. They left, changed the subject, they didn’t understand the absence of this father, if it was abandonment. Although I always explained what happened: that he got sick and went to heaven. I always made that little joke,” he reported.
