After his absence from the CPI das Cryptocurrencies, Ronaldinho Gaúcho was again summoned to testify, with approval of coercive conduction, in case he is absent once again. The hearing for the testimony of the former athlete is scheduled for 10 am next Thursday (24).
“They are irregularly absent from the CPI. It is good that you talk about it so that we don’t have more problems and what the CPI least wants is to seek coercive conduct, but, if necessary, we will do it. If they are not here at the Thursday, we will seek coercive conduction, it comes with police force”, said the rapporteur of the CPI, deputy Ricardo Silva (PSD-SP).
Last Monday (21), the former player obtained a habeas corpus that guaranteed his right to remain silent, however, his request not to attend the session was not accepted. This Tuesday (22), in the morning, Ronaldinho’s defense team again called the Federal Supreme Court (STF), arguing that the former athlete had not been “duly notified by the coercive authority about the hearing”, according to the newspaper O Globo.
Ronaldinho Gaúcho had been invited to give testimony after being mentioned as the founder of the company 18k, the object of investigations for suspected financial pyramid operations. The former player’s lawyer denies any shareholding involvement in the company and argues that Ronaldinho is a victim of 18k, which used his name and image without permission, in an improper manner.
