Ekavi, directed by Ios Voulgarakis at the Orestis Makris Theater (Chalkida)

After Epidaurus, Euripides’ emblematic work, “Ekavi”, directed by Ios Voulgarakis, continues its summer tour in Attica and Evia. Next stop, Thursday, August 24, at 9:30 p.m., the Orestis Makris Theater, in Chalkida. In the first – and particularly harsh for the Athenians – period of the Peloponnesian War (431-420 BC) Euripides attempts to record and show his fellow citizens – and all Greeks – the dehumanization of man that can be caused by war.

I was disgusted… but still not completely, by Lena Kitsopoulou at the Lampeti Theatre

The show that was performed in the winter season at the Tempus Verum Theatre, based on 3 texts by Lena Kitsopoulou and directed by Christel Kaperonis, is being presented, this summer, in Summer Lampeti. In a retro setting reminiscent of a 90s nightclub, the show begins when the audience enters the venue. A folk singer opens the program, welcomes them with dance and songs and prepares them for what is to follow. That is, a black comedy, with the caustic texts of Lena Kitsopoulou as a vehicle. The three heroines (played by Nastia Vrachati, Georgina Liosi and Iro Pektesi), although apparently unknown to each other, overcome what separates them and gradually get lost in the humor, the blur from the smoke of the scenery and the noise from the “doghouses” “. And suddenly from strangers, they turn into familiar, everyday figures, people next door.

Thursday to Sunday at 20:30 | Performances until 8/27

Tickets: €13-20. Pre-sale: viva.gr.

Lampeti Theatre, 106 Alexandras Ave., Athens.
