Influencer is accused of paying for accommodation with a cloned card and talks about a scam

A law student and digital influencer has been accused of trying to pay for her stay in a vacation apartment in Leblon, Rio de Janeiro, with cloned cards. She even went to a Rio de Janeiro police station on Monday (24) to give a statement, but was eventually released.

According to the police, she was arrested in the act when she was trying to pay the bill with irregular cards and accused of embezzlement. After posting bail, she was released. The case is still being investigated.

The influencer Ingrid Caroline, 20, made several videos in the Stories and said that it was all a blow that she claims to have suffered from a company that approached her.

“I’m at peace with my heart knowing that I didn’t do anything. Even the police station knows that. I have pix receipts and payments I’ve made and I’ve never had to use a cloned card. I’m honest”, she defended herself. “I didn’t confess anything, because it’s all a lie,” he said.

According to her team of representatives, a travel company would have contacted her to form a partnership in which she would receive free or discounted tickets and accommodation.

In this way, the young woman would have passed her personal data to this alleged company that would have used it to clone credit cards used online without Ingrid’s knowledge.

The influencer claims that she has all the proof of payments and conversations with the alleged company and, crying, went back to saying that she fell for a scam and that she is suffering from the negative repercussions.

“It’s taking a huge proportion, my photo going out everywhere. But why don’t they post the criminal’s prints and photos? That’s not the story and they [policiais] know that,” he concluded.

After the episode, she says she has gained a lot of followers and that there are more than 100,000 views a day on her Stories, but that she would not have liked to have grown up on the internet that way. Now, Ingrid has nearly 200,000 followers.
