Gabriela Duarte ends marriage after 19 years: ‘The family is still together’

Actress Gabriela Duarte, 47, announced on social media the end of her marriage to photographer Jairo Goldflus after 19 years of marriage. According to her, both will remain friends and the decision was joint.

“Jairo and I lived together for 19 years. It was 19 years of a lot of exchange, love, bullshit, two children, travel, plans, changes in plans and a lot, a lot of partnership. This partnership is such that we understand together that ending our marriage would be the best decision for the moment,” he wrote in the post.

The actress says, however, that nothing will shake the family. With him, Gabriela has Manuela, 15, and Frederico, 10. “The family we built will remain strong until the end of our lives. Jairo will always be my love, my friend and the father of our children.”

Gabriela Duarte said that she decided to tell herself about the decision so that there is no noise on this matter or speculation. “We are well, happy and certain that it was the right decision. The marriage is over and the family is still together”, he said.

In June 2021, in an interview with Folha, Gabriela Duarte stated that the period in which her mother, Regina Duarte, served as Secretary of Culture in the government of Jair Bolsonaro is already behind her. “It’s like a cycle in our lives has come full circle,” she said. “Now it’s all about moving forward. Moving on with life from now on and not living something that has already passed.”

Regina broke a more than 50-year contract with TV Globo to be part of Bolsonaro’s management and was in charge of the portfolio for less than three months, between March and May 2020. Gabriela said that the family did not influence her mother’s decisions — and that I learned from the press both when she accepted the position and when she left the government.

The actress was not in Regina’s possession and said she wouldn’t need to be there for her mother to know she had her approval. “She has my support for whatever she wants to do in life. Whether I agree or not, it doesn’t really matter,” he commented at the time.
