Halkidiki – Polygyros Hospital: One of the two ICVID ICUs closed due to reduced hospitalization

by

According to the president of the Medical Association of Halkidiki, Marios Pyrpasopoulos, the omens that have been coming lately from the coronavirus are positive. “The number of serious cases that need to be admitted to the ICU (COVID) has been significantly reduced. At the General Hospital of Polygyros from the two ICUs, only one remains open, because the serious cases are few for quite some time. “Of course, the clinic that is closed is in a stand by state, if there is a need for extra beds,” he notes in GRTimes.

Currently, there are about 30 beds available, up from 60 when both clinics were open. According to information, 5 people are being treated in Polygyros with serious complications of the coronavirus.

Vaccinations Remain Steady – Growth in the Home

As far as the cases are concerned, according to Mr. Pyrpasopoulos, there is an increase, without the data being worrying, while the vaccinations are at a steady pace. “There is no decline in vaccinations. “There is also an increase in home vaccinations, because most do not want to pay the fine of 100 euros.”

Finally, there is concern about the Delta mutation, which remains prevalent for ICU imports, and not so much Omicron, which is still at a low level.
