Howard Shore’s three-Oscar, three-Golden Globe and four-Grammy award-winning score for his trilogy “Lord of the Rings” was voted Britain’s favorite soundtrack.

Shore’s music “won” her “Schindler’s List”, which was second, and “Star Wars”, which came third. Radio station Classic FM recently published their list of their 100 favorite soundtracks as voted by over 10,000 Britons as part of their annual Movie Music Hall of Fame. Shore may have won the top spot, but John Williams managed to emerge as the most popular composer, with five soundtracks in the top 20 and eleven in total. The second most popular composer was Hans Zimmer with ten, while Ennio Morricone managed to find five places in the top 100.
