The presenter Fausto Silva was extubated this Tuesday morning (29) and is already breathing without the help of devices, according to a new medical bulletin released by Albert Einstein Hospital 48 hours after the heart transplant surgery.

Faustão talks normally with his family and has had a very good evolution considered by the doctors.

“The patient is conscious, talks normally and has good heart function”, says the document sent to the press. So far, Faustão’s new heart has not been rejected by his body. The next few days will still be decisive. There is still no prediction of discharge.

The note is signed by cardiologist Fernando Bacal, cardiovascular surgeon Fábio Antônio Gaiotto, and Einstein’s medical and hospital services director, Miguel Cendoroglo Neto, who have been treating Faustão since the beginning of August, when he was hospitalized after complaining of health problems.

Luciana Cardoso, wife of Faustão, made a post this Monday (28) to thank the family of the organ donor, who, by protocol, does not have his name revealed.

“I thank this blessed family that, in a moment of pain and suffering, said ‘yes’ and allowed not only Fausto to have more time with his children, but also so many other recipients who are celebrating this recovery today”, stated Luciana.

“I was very happy to know that here, in this same hospital, a person, through the SUS, also received another organ from that same recipient and his second chance at life”, she ended, revealing that other organs from the donor went to other people who were also in the transplant queue.
