The long awaited movie “Killers of the Flower Moon” will be released in cinemas worldwide on the same day, at the end of Octobercanceling a planned limited release on October 6.

Apple Studios has announced that Martin Scorsese’s project, starring Leonardo di Caprio (Leonardo DiCaprio) and the Lily Gladstone (Lily Gladstone), will hit theaters on October 20, followed by its debut on Apple TV+. In Greece it will be released one day earlier.

Although the reasons for the cancellation of the limited release were not disclosed, Hollywood continues to struggle through a double union strike with no immediate end in sight, reports Variety.

Based on David Grann’s bestseller of the same name, the $200 million 3 hour 26 minute crime western epic is set in 1920s Oklahoma and tells the story of the murders of members of the Osage Indian tribe when vast oil fields were discovered.

It had its world premiere in May at the Cannes Film Festivalearning a 9-minute standing ovation and rave reviews while is considered a favorite for this year’s Oscars with Lily Gladstone the most likely candidate.

They star also Robert De Niro, Brendan Fraser, Jesse Plemons, Louis Cancelmi and Sturgill Simpson.

Martin Scorsese is writing the screenplay along with Eric Roth and it is the seventh time he has collaborated with DiCaprio and the eleventh with De Niro.
