New paintings by Thom Yorkeof the English singer rock band Radiohead, will be presented at the Tin Man Art gallery in London. The works were created together with the artist Stanley Donwood, a longtime collaborator of the band since he created artwork for the cover of Radiohead’s EP My Iron Lung in 1994. The experience of creating the works reminded Yorke of the process he follows as a musician. “This is what I found so fascinating. I realized to such an extent that the two processes are almost identical“, he said.

Yorke and Donwood started creating art together a few years ago. Some of their earliest efforts appeared in digital “KID A MNESIA EXHIBITION”which accompanied Radiohead’s eponymous triple album (combining here 2000’s Kid A and 2001’s Amnesiac with previously unreleased material).

For the last report, titled “The Crow Flies Part One”, Yorke and Donwood worked side by side on the same canvas, in a small studio. As well as creating the artwork for the cover of A Light for Attracting Attention – last year’s debut from The Smile, Thom Yorke’s new band – they have also created over 20 additional paintings which will now be exhibited for the first time in public view.
