Lucian’s concerts in Lycabettus
“Of all the things I’ve lived, I lived this too / and it was something magical / it was soft like a caress, it was very sweet / the night in Lycabettus”, sang Kilaidonis in “Wednesday 28 July”, an emotional, experiential song for the experience of his first concert in Lycabettus in July 1982, in which there were 10,000 spectators. It was the first concert that took place after the Postcolonization in this venue, while the next six concerts he gave on the hill would redefine the musical spectacle in Greece.
Apart from his 1st concert, in July 1982, in 1985 he set up a whole theater stage at “Pame Maestro” to present his music for theater and cinema. In 1991, at “Night of Miracles”, he celebrates 20 years in the discography with a three-hour extravaganza that counted over 150 people on stage, while in 1993 at the concert “Ah! My sweet homeland…” tells the socio-historical journey of the pre-war and post-war years of Greece, through characteristic songs.
In 1996, in the “Dark Side”, he brings his personal studio to the stage of Lykavittos and dedicates the evening to his lesser-known and anecdotal pieces, while in 1997 in “Nea Kypseli, New Orleans”, he collaborates with the famous “Preservation Hall Jazz Band” from New Orleans in an impressive setting-replica of the interior of the legendary “Preservation Hall Jazz Club”. Finally, in 2002, he covers the entire stage of Lycabettus with real grass and sets up a real and functional bar, giving the audience an unforgettable “Cocktail Party”.
Today, the “poor and lonely cowboy” of Greek song, with the unique ability to unite a multitude of people through his music, “meets” again with his favorite theater, in a unique musical spectacle that will be remembered for a long time.
Participating (in alphabetical order) are the singers Themis Andreadis, Spyros Grammenos, Doros Dimosthenous, Maria Kilaidoni, Panos Mouzourakis, Penny Baltatzi, Christos Papadopoulos, Manolis Famellos and the actors Yasemi Kilaidoni, Nadia Kontogeorgi, Yannis Bezos, Alexandros Bourdoumis .
