Sister of Céline Dion says that the singer ‘hopes for a miracle’ in health: ‘There is little we can do’

Since discovering rigid person syndrome, which causes frequent muscle spasms, even affecting the vocal cords, Céline Dion has kept a low profile and out of the spotlight. But the singer’s family updates her health status through some interviews.

And this time, the artist’s sister claims that Céline is waiting for a miracle to recover from the disease. According to Claudette Dion, the spasms are frequent and intense in the owner of the hit “My Heart Will Go On”.

“It’s a disease that we know so little about. There are spasms that are impossible to control. You know when someone jumps up during the night because of a cramp in the leg or calf? It’s a bit like that, but in all the muscles,” she says, in interview with Canadian magazine Hello. “There is little we can do to support her, to ease her pain.”

She currently lives in Las Vegas with her children and sister, who divides her life between the United States and the province of Quebec, Canada.

“She is doing everything to recover, she is a strong woman. It is comforting for all of us to be at Célice’s side”, he stated. And she added: “we are crossing our fingers that researchers find a remedy for this terrible disease.”
