Cardi and Stallion have only performed live together once during the 2021 Grammy Awards
On Monday, Grammy winner Cardi Band the three-time Grammy Award winner, Megan Thee Stallionhave announced that they have created their second single titled ‘Bongos’, which will be released on September 9.
The talented duo are hoping the song will be a big hit, given that their previous collaboration – the critically acclaimed ‘WAP’ – spent four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2020. ‘Rolling Stone’ and NPR wrote rave reviews for this particular track, which was produced by Ayo & Keyz.

“WAP” went 7 times platinum, according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The music video – directed by Colin Tilley – has amassed 510 million views on YouTube thanks to appearances by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion.
New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez even cleverly brought back the title “Women Against Patriarchy,” as it’s remarkable for two women to stand out in a male-dominated field, especially hip-hop.
Cardi (née Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar Cephus) and Stallion have only performed live together once during the 2021 Grammy Awards.
“Bongos” came as a surprise considering the rapper recently stated in an interview that she’s “not going to do any more collaborations” ahead of the release of her long-delayed second studio album.
“I will be releasing my next solo single. Right now I’m working on the cover art and ideas for the next record, because it’s definitely coming. So stay tuned because it will be released very soon,” she said.
