The rampant Ravez Davitaze and the wrestler Nika Kensaze are among the four athletes from Georgia, who were imposed four years of exclusions, after the Arbitration Sports Court (CAS) disagreed with a Court of Appeal that they were found to be positive.
Davitaze, who won a silver medal at the 2024 World Weightlifting Championships, and Kensaze, a bronze Olympian at the 2021 World Wrestling Championships, were positive in the banned substance in 2023.
Georgia’s anti -doping agency (GADA) and WADA excluded them for four years, but an agricultural court ruled in June 2024 that a person had added bone to their drinking water. The Gada Disciplinary Committee later canceled their exclusions.
WADA and the International Weightlifting Federation appealed to CAS against Gada and athletes, seeking to restore their four -year exclusions.
“The CAS … found that the decision of the Tbilisa Court did not have the necessary investigation of facts to support sabotage theory and was contradicted by scientific evidence,” the CAS said (1/10) in a statement.
The athlete’s four -year period will start on September 30, with a credit for temporary miscarriages.
