It’s been a year since the release of her last album ‘Fossora’, and yet Björk continues to give life to the tracks on the record. In fact, it was released a few hours ago a new animated music video for the single, “Victimhood”.
The clip, directed by Gabríela Friðriksdóttir & Pierre-Alain Giraud (who are also responsible for Fossora’s artwork), premiered during the Icelandic singer’s concert in Lisbon, while yesterday it was “uploaded” to YouTube.
Speaking about the video, Friðriksdóttir said: “I was totally mesmerized by the song. I couldn’t forget it, I also had some dreams about it. It was a deep connection from the first moment I heard it. The song deals with things that I think about often, it’s about self-pity and how ridiculous or how funny you were in a situation or in a strange place where you were having a hard time and then you see yourself».

“Instead of always showing someone else, it’s so nice to rediscover yourself. To break the specific mask of a specific feeling at a specific moment. I think even within the lyrics themselves, there’s this poetry about a human condition that’s really familiar to everyone, I think everyone can understand it».
