The famous British actress, Emma Thompson, revealed to Italian newspaper Il Gazzettino that he wants to “settle in Venice”. It’s been a dream since her childhood and now, buying a mansion there where she spends at least two months a year, she hopes to make it and live permanently, she said.

Venice has always had a special place in my heart since childhood. Now, my dream has come true. I have settled in a house in the city and whenever I can, I spend at least two to three months there. At the same time, I’m studying Italian, which I want to know and speak as well as possible,” the Oscar-winning actress, who officially lives in London, told Il Gazzettino.

“I still maintain my residence in London, on the same street as my children and my mother, who is 91 years old and needs me. However, my greatest desire is to establish Venice as my permanent residence for a whole year. In the meantime, I’m glad I can enjoy the city for a few months“, added the actress and admitted that she is crazy about Italian cuisine.

Thompson bought the property three years after she was named an honorary citizen of Venice, along with her husband Greg Wise.
