After an on/off relationship that lasted ten years and a failed marriage, Miley Cyrus has opened up for the first time about her divorce from Liam Hemsworth.

More specifically, she revealed the moment she realized that his marriage was over and that they should get a divorce.

“Our commitment to stay married came from the love we felt, having been together for 10 years. But it also came from a trauma and we are trying to rebuild very quickly what we could”, said the singer initially.

She revealed that she knew the end had come in June 2019, when she performed at Glastonbury Festival. “The day of the show was the day I decided that the relationship in my life wasn’t going to work anymore. So it was a moment when I put my work, the show, my role first. Now, for me, the person comes first and then the artist,” he said.

Then speaking about her public divorce she added: “The problem wasn’t so much that me and someone else realized we didn’t love each other anymore. That’s something I can accept. What I don’t accept is all the stories about who was bad and that there wasn’t time leading up to that decision because it was sudden for them.”
