The evening “Greek soloists in the Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall” continues next month with an evening dedicated to two masterpieces of chamber music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johannes Brahms.
Three renowned musicians, Nikos Mandylas (violin), the violinist Krystalia Gaitanou (violin) and Christoforos Mirosnikov (cello), meet, on Tuesday, February 1, at 20:30, the pianist Dora Bakopoulou, a favorite acquaintance of Megaros, recital that highlights the synthetic ability of the two great composers.
Through the Quartet with piano no. 2 in a major recession, Mozart pioneers choosing to write a small form instead of a piano concerto, while Brahms, with the First Minor Piano Quartet, begins to develop his personality as a symphonist, turning his attention to the combination. limited number of instruments before systematically tackling the composition of works for large ensembles.
The appearance of the four artists at the Athens Concert Hall is part of the series “Greek soloists in the Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall”, which continues in February with a concert by the String Quartet and the clarinetist Costas Tzekos and 9/22) an evening with “Love Songs”, in which the mezzo-soprano Mary-Ellen Nezi, the baritone Vito Priante and the pianist Dimitris Giakas participate (23/2/2022).
Three more recitals are scheduled for March. The first (14/3/2022) features soprano Lenia Zafeiropoulou, Faidon Miliadis (violin), Fani Vovoni (violin), Angela Giannaki (viola) and Alexis Karaiskakis Nastos (cello), who present French music.
In the second (16/3/2022) the lyricists Myrsini Margariti and Tassis Christogiannopoulos -with them, Nikos Athinaios on the piano- take part, while in the third concert of the cycle (23/3/2022) the Pantou Trio (Andreas Papanikolaou– violin, Angelos Liakakis-cello, Titos Gouvelis-piano) perform works by Liszt, Snitke and Mendelssohn.
