When contacted, the duo did not respond.
The São Paulo Court of Justice responded to a request from the State Public Prosecutor’s Office and canceled shows by the country duos Fernando and Sorocaba, as well as the duos Antony and Gabriel and Jads and Jadson that were supposed to take place between the 14th and 16th of this month.
According to the Court of Justice, the city’s financial deficit reached R$4.7 million only until May 2023. And the amounts that should be paid for hiring artists would be around R$540 thousand.
The city is currently facing infrastructure problems and has greater investment needs. As a result, the municipality changed the party’s schedule with performances by much less well-known artists.
In a note, the city council of Euclides da Cunha Paulista states that “the municipality has kept its obligations up to date and that any budget deficits are calculated over a period of 12 months”.
It also says that the city “reiterates its commitment to transparency, fiscal responsibility and the well-being of its population.”
