Cord Jefferson’s American Fiction, a scathing satire starring Jeffrey Wright as a disillusioned academic, won the Audience Award at the Toronto International Film Festival, a major honor for this year’s race of Oscar.
Alexander Payne’s eighth film ‘The Holdovers’ follows a grumpy professor played by Paul Giamatti when he is forced to stay at the university during Christmas break to look after a small group of students. was awarded the second prize.
“The Boy and the Heron” by the master animation creator, Hayao Miyazaki (Hayao Miyazaki) with the third.
According to the AP, “American Fiction” is expected in theaters on November 3.

The directorial debut of Jefferson, who is also known as the screenwriter of the series “Watchmen” and “Succession” is based on the novel “Erasure” by Percival Everett (Percival Everett) which was released in 2001.
Starring, among others, Tracee Ellis Ross, Erika Alexander, John Ortiz, Issa Rae and Adam Brody.
