Cord Jefferson’s American Fiction, a scathing satire starring Jeffrey Wright as a disillusioned academic, won the Audience Award at the Toronto International Film Festival, a major honor for this year’s race of Oscar.

Alexander Payne’s eighth film ‘The Holdovers’ follows a grumpy professor played by Paul Giamatti when he is forced to stay at the university during Christmas break to look after a small group of students. was awarded the second prize.
